Australian Scrapbook Ideas Issue 6

Hey there bloggers!
I got my copy of ASI Issue 6 this week and am so happy with how my double layouts look!  If you get one you HAVE to see the hilarious photos of my Hubby Dion in it.  He's dressed as a Stormtrooper (from Star Wars for all you non-geeks out there) and is looking very handsome ;) (you can see a bit of it at the top of the mag cover) There's also a pic of me in my scanties (oops, just scared you back off again ;) it's the other pic from the photo shoot I did with Sherbet Birdie that compliments the one on my blog header. (Don't worry, it's a fully-covering corset and I'm heavily air-brushed ;)
You also get a set of free stamps with this Issue (as well as the paper pack) could it be that my incessant searching for a decent Congratulations stamp is at an end??? Have to try that bad boy out ;)
Anyway, I'm off to make Connor's gourmet breakfast (cheesy toast with 2 sauces no less ;) have a great Wednesday!

I'M A COVER GIRL!!!

Sorry, bit excited there!  I have been bursting with excitement ever since I found out that my cards made the cover of the latest issue of Australian Simply Cards magazine.  I couldn't wait for the mag to post the pic on their website, so as soon as one of my gal pals spied it on a Newsagents shelf, I quickly took my own dodgy scan of my copy.

My article is all about interactive cards - pop-up, spinner etc.  I was very happy with them.
Anyway, enough self-adulation, gotta get these kids ready for school and daycare.
Have a great Thursday!

Issue 5 is Here, and some Show & Tell

Well, in all the fun and games going on around here I forgot to mention that the latest Issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas has hit the newsstand!
(That's my Buzz Lightyear layout in the top left corner)

I've also realised that I haven't actually put any of the layouts etc up on my blog from previous Issues.  So I shall start uploading them to my blog from time to time (and as I get them back)

This layout was from Issue 2 of Australian Scrapbook Ideas. The article was interactive layouts.  There is hidden journaling on a tag behind the bottom photo and a 'postcard' I created behind the top photo (my computer didn't want to upload photos of them today so I'll add them at a later date)
Anyway gotta dash - I'm teaching my Twinchies class today.
Have a fab Friday!

Australian Scrapbook Ideas Issue #4

Well, the latest issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas has hit the newsstands.  With the fabulous Jolene Pienaar on the cover with one of her adorable girls.  My feature this month was called 'Humour Me' and was all about scrapping fancy dress and funny photos - yeah I sure struggled with that! (not)  It was alot of fun.  You can see in the top right corner of the cover one of the layouts - featuring hilarious photos from the Medieval Fayre.  There are also some fantastic goofball pics of the kids in Groucho Marx glasses; as well as a layout featuring pics from Halloween 2009.

I hope you all survived Christmas, and haven't been washed away.  With all of the rain here and up north we've had to postpone our trip to Bundaberg to visit the family, not to mention just paying $700 to get another thing fixed on the car! (ouch, It's special needs) Well, I'm off to drink more coffee and then pick up Connor from his sleep-over, ahh the blessed peace shall soon be at an end! If only the rain would stop so that the kids could go outside!  (after all, there's only so many times you can go to the movies and see Megamind ;)
Happy Tuesday, Bloggers!

Just Tootin' My Horn...

Hey there Bloggers.  Well it's certainly been a busy week, and a super busy weekend!  I've been o so patiently waiting for the Publishers to put up the cover pic for the latest issue of Australian Simply Cards magazine but I gave in and scanned my own copy ;)

I'm so excited!  This is my first time being published in Simply Cards (discounting the dodgy card I made for one of their free designer mini books).  Here's hoping they like me and there will be more to come ;)
And technically I'm on the front cover - I'm the 'Seasonal Stamping' bit on the right.

Here's a dodgy photo that I took with my phone of a card I'm about to send off to a friend of mine that's up the duff, (yay)
Just a simple one- using the gorgeous new Graphic 45 range - Once Upon a Springtime.

OH!  And a bit shout out to my Gal Pal Krischelle who's just been accepted as part of the design team for Scrap Tiffany!  Congrats chick!

In other news my car is cursed - this time last year I was rear-ended by a truck (not fun -don't recommend it) and then yesterday I had to get it towed to the mechanics for some sort of ignition coil thingy (it's like they're speaking in tongues) there goes $220 worth of xmas shopping :( Arrgghh!
Anyway, I'm off again (being kicked off the computer by my 11yr old - for shame, I cannot wait until I get a laptop)
Have a great day bloggers!

Issue 3 is Here!

I'm so excited because Krischelle's layout is on the cover!  Yay! You go girl! I did off the page for this issue - 12 days of Christmas advent houses, a star wreath and my Christmas Control Journal (really gotta get that back so I know what I'm supposed to be buying and making ;)

The daggy, giddy delight still hasn't worn off - although the stress of trying to get everything completed in time is certainly not fun ;)
I did another full day class with Jane Tregenza yesterday, gimme a day or so to complete the stuff and I'll post some pics from that.
Anyway, I need more coffee, have a great Tuesday, B

Issue 2 is here!!

Hooray!  Issue 2 is finally here! And OMG it looks fabulous!  (I apologise for the text speak, but I'm super happy with how it looks)
And if you look REALLY closely in the top left corner - near where it says 'new' it's one of my layouts!  So, technically, I made the front cover! ;)
And a big shout out to my paper pal Krischelle Page for her first time published and welcome to the design team (her work is so cute and beautiful).  So, race out to your nearest newsagents and find me on pages 42-45 (not that I've memorised it or anything ;), and don't forget to check out my Christmas off-the-page project in the free mini-book ( pages 24 & 25) I know I'm an enormous dag!
