Dragon Sock Puppets

Well, I had the card workshop today for the lovely ladies from CAP.  We had 16 or so and it was a lot of fun.  I introduced alot of them to the world of Kindyglitz, so some husbands may not be happy ;)
A big shout out needs to go to Lyndal - she was my lovely assistant for the day (never did get her into that spandex ;) and went above and beyond (curse my enormous headache - leaving me with the inability to remember Tim Holtz dies).
Can't wait for the next one...card workshop that is, not headache ;)

I also thought I'd share some hilarious show and tell.  Last week, after work, my lovely children decided that what we really needed to do was make sock puppets.
Fine, I thought, one odd sock (got enough of those) a couple of buttons (hmmm, less enthusiastic but figured I could spare a couple for the greater good) and hey presto.... Apparently not. Not content with normal sock puppets I was forced to make Dragon sock puppets, with wings, googly eyes, pointy dragon ears, teeth and forked tongues.  As you do - doesn't everyone know how to make those?  And hurry up Mummy, I want it to be ready NOW.
So, feast your eyes on the results (well Connor's one - Hamish was running around so much with his that I couldn't get him to stand still long enough for a photo.) A cobbled together dragon sock puppet made in under 4 minutes.  (Those with actual talents in this field may want to look away now ;)

Apparently he wanted to depict an epic battle  - that between sock and boy. Well, what he said was 'and now the sock dragon is attacking me, aarrggh, aaarrrggghhh!!' but my version sounded better ;)

Card Workshop Photos

Ladies Shaker Card

                                                                    Male Easel Card

Xmas Pudding Hinge Card

So, here are the cards I'm teaching at the Workshop on Saturday, at the Annerley Baptist Church for CAP.  Fairly simple, but hopefully the ladies will like them.  In other exciting news I forgot to mention, I have been nominated for an Employee Excellence Award!  Check it out!

I chopped the top of it off scanning it, but you get the idea.  I know I'm a big dag being all excited about it, but if the shoe fits ;)
Apparently there is some sort of awards ceremony where they announce the best retail award as well as the employee one - sounds very Logies ;)

Anyway, I don't have time for this sort of shenanigans, I've got a thousand things to do! (Aaarrgghh) slight stress attack.  Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ;)

The Curse of the Broken Camera

I am really feeling the loss of my camera at the moment.  I really want to share some show and tell - the heart is willing but the camera isn't, really need to take it in to the camera doctor soon (because I have soo much time on my hands ;)
With Fiona away at CHA ( am so jelly-eyed about that - though I have visions of her throwing her scanties at Tim Holtz...no wait, that's what I'd do ;) the shop has been crazy.  The fabulous Sharlene had her patented Speedy Scrap class today (always popular) and Friday I have the mini Xmas in July.
Then of course I have my Card Workshop for the wonderful CAP ladies.  I'm very nervous about this one, but I'm sure that they'll all be gentle on me!
I'm going to teach a xmas card, a male/father's day card and a female card - cover all bases so to speak.  I shall attempt to upload the card examples tomorrow, when I shall hopefully get an idea of class numbers for Saturday (eek).

Anyhoo, am off to bed - here's hoping I get coffee and breakfast in bed again tomorrow like I did today, I am so spoilt.  But hey, I think Dion has cottoned on to the fact that I'm nicer and love the world more when the coffee fairy magically delivers her caffeinated goodness to me in bed. (twice in under half an hour - sigh ;)

Cuttlebugging and Xmas

Well, I feel exhausted from this week already and it's only Wednesday!  I've been compulsively organizing and labeling things at work and implementing systems.  I think Fiona fears standing near me for too long in case I label her as well...no wait, I already have - I made her  a name badge, LOL!

So this week my Cuttlebug Cards class is running on the Thursday night - I might just have to drive to work for that - far too chilly!

Saturday we are having an all-day Christmas in July class.  I'm teaching these 3 cards and Fiona has made a very cute village from the Collections houses.  It's a bit hard to tell from the photo, but the 1st card is an easel card (I'm a bit partial to them at the moment).  I really like the 3rd card - it's a quick and easy pop up card with a built in gift card holder.

Materials: Cuttlebug embossing - Candy Cane Stripes; Tim Holtz Fades - Bingo; Spellbinders - Fair Aisle Pendants and Borderabilities; Stampendous; Crate Paper; Sassafras Lass, WRMK

Hamish is 4!

Good grief!  Where has the time gone?  Our crazy, wacky little boy turned 4 on Saturday.  And if you think I'm exaggerating about the crazy and wacky part, check out these pics!

Connor pulling a blue magnum

(Not the best quality pics I know - very sadly my camera has died and I have been appropriating other peoples. )

We gave Hamish a bike for his birthday, and being loving, safety conscious parents that we are, also gave him a Toy Story helmet with matching elbow and knee pads.  So now it's a real struggle to actually get them off him!  I put him to bed Saturday night, then kept hearing strange noises - he'd found his helmet and pads, put them on and was launching himself onto his bed.  Cyclone Hamish at his best.
