Thank God It's Wednesday

I know that's supposed to apply to Friday, but I normally work Friday and what seems like most Saturdays, so Wednesday is all good...although with the school Holidays upon us, work has even more appeal ;)
Well, I finally handed over my layouts for issue 2 today, sans instructions, but hey, I like to keep Tina in suspense as much as I can!  For those not in the know (ie those few of you out there that I haven't waved a pre-release copy at)  I am very privileged to have been chosen to be part of the Design Team for a brand spanking new Scrapbooking mag, Australian Scrapbook Ideas, to be released July 16.
This is what the front cover looks like: and if you look very closely in the top right corner you'll see my name.  Well, I'm excited, I don't care if that makes me gauche, that's just me.
I didn't tell my Mum that the mag featured photos of her in it until it was too late to do anything about it (mean I know, but for those that know my Mother, perfectly understandable!)
As for the honeycomb front.....Dion bought a large packet from Woolworths today, so say no more ;)

...and this is why I shouldn't watch Masterchef

Tee Hee Hee
Poor Dion, I promised him that I knew how to make the honeycomb just like they made on Master Class recently....obviously from the picture above I was sadly mistaken!
I've never seen anything so sadly disappointing and freakin' hilarious in my life.
my food critics here have bravely tried it and after the raucous rounds of disgusted spluttering they have informed me that it is grainy and acidic.  (or in Connor's diplomatic words - 'Mum, it's really not very nice')
I've been told that we shall surely succeed tomorrow...after trying to find the actual recipe and procuring the actual  ingredients.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's attempt (hopefully without any food poisoning incidents to report!)

Martha Voodoo

Well I had the fresh and floral class today, and am starting to think that I'm jinxed in the Martha Stewart department..  I cracked open the new replacement punch for my lovely ladies to use and the blasted thing kept jamming....Then jammed completely.  I tried many times to fix it to no avail so I handed it to the fabulous Krischelle.  Who fixed it...by dropping it on the floor.  I swear I felt the blood drain from my face so fast I almost had to put my head between my knees.  But I was very brave and we persevered and card makers triumphed in the end.
Thank you to the fab ladies who humoured me, and a special thanks to Shirelle who always fills the role of lovely assistant so graciously ;)

Class This Week

I figured I may as well show the classes I'm teaching as they come up. This Friday I'm doing 'Fresh and Floral Cards' - I create them I don't name them ;) I must say that I was super happy with these ones - what can I say I love the retro 70's bathroom feel that the first 2 of them have!  I have to mention that I did scraplift the 3rd card a bit from the Stampendous website - I'm not normally a flowery sort of girl so I went looking for inspiration.
I used my Martha Stewart punch for the 2nd card, even though I promised Fiona I would give it a break for this schedule -  I love Martha, there I said it.  And for those in the know I have my replacement punch and am ready for the class (we will never speak of this again - too traumatic ;)
Stamps used - Stampendous 'Loopy Blooms' and 'Wildflower Sprigs'

Hello. Is there anybody out there?

So, here I am. Having been dragged kicking and screaming into the cyber world of Blogging. ( Although Umming and Ahhing may be more accurate, could it be any harder to pick a blog name that doesn't sound either ridiculous or conceited? Or both?)
Either way, here I am, not really expecting many visitors and secretly fearing that this will soon become the crazy ramblings of a crafter gone mad and blogging to herself ;)
