Issue 2 is here!!
Hooray! Issue 2 is finally here! And OMG it looks fabulous! (I apologise for the text speak, but I'm super happy with how it looks)
And if you look REALLY closely in the top left corner - near where it says 'new' it's one of my layouts! So, technically, I made the front cover! ;)
And a big shout out to my paper pal Krischelle Page for her first time published and welcome to the design team (her work is so cute and beautiful). So, race out to your nearest newsagents and find me on pages 42-45 (not that I've memorised it or anything ;), and don't forget to check out my Christmas off-the-page project in the free mini-book ( pages 24 & 25) I know I'm an enormous dag!

Steampunk Debutante
I've been busy again, what can I say, the Graphic 45 just inspires me.
This was going to be one of my layouts for Issue 4 but I changed my mind at the last minute. I'm now going to use a different one from the same night.
As you may have guessed this was taken at the same Halloween party where I was a pirate, I'm thinking I may need to up the ante in my costume this year ;)
We took the boys to see Riverfire last night. They both loved it, although I think Hamish was equally entranced by the crackers and dip that the afore-mentioned Kylie provided!
I took this at the bus stop as we were on our way into the city, I of course then forgot to take some more...of the fireworks!

Class Tonight
Hey there bloggers! Tonight I have my class Eastern Elements. I was pleasantly surprised with how these turned out as it's not my normal thing - going the Asian route.

the bottom one has a faux rice-paper screen that slides across to reveal each side.
I just hope the ladies are gentle with me tonight as I'm past the 2 month mark with my continuous headache :( I had a barrage of tests done yesterday and I have another one today, so fingers crossed we can find out if something is causing it, and stop it! My husband is all geared up for a big fat 'I told you so' after today's eye test, so if I start wearing glasses you just know he's going to be insufferable ;)

Going Graphic (45 that is ;)
Well, it's official, I'm a Graphic 45 junkie. I've got a few male themed classes this schedule and the 'A Proper Gentleman' range is just fab for them.

I love these ones! I know I'm a cheesy dag, (doesn't sound good ;) but there you are. The tie rack one is so easy but is so cute!

The double layout is not one of my original ideas - it's a class I did at Printblocks with the lovely Jenny Sutherland. The first lot of cards shown are variations of ones I did in her class as well.
Speaking of Graphic 45 classes...I did another one today, another all day-er from 9am-5pm, this time with the fabulous Jane Tregenza. Love her work. We did a great layout using the new-ish Hallowe'en In Wonderland collection. Love it.
So, all in all a fab day. Watch this space for more photos soon!

August Scrapbooking Kit
Well against all odds I finished the August scrapbooking kit on time for the store. I have photos but might just have to take some others as they seem a bit blue.

Dragon Sock Puppets
Well, I had the card workshop today for the lovely ladies from CAP. We had 16 or so and it was a lot of fun. I introduced alot of them to the world of Kindyglitz, so some husbands may not be happy ;)
A big shout out needs to go to Lyndal - she was my lovely assistant for the day (never did get her into that spandex ;) and went above and beyond (curse my enormous headache - leaving me with the inability to remember Tim Holtz dies).
Can't wait for the next one...card workshop that is, not headache ;)
I also thought I'd share some hilarious show and tell. Last week, after work, my lovely children decided that what we really needed to do was make sock puppets.
Fine, I thought, one odd sock (got enough of those) a couple of buttons (hmmm, less enthusiastic but figured I could spare a couple for the greater good) and hey presto.... Apparently not. Not content with normal sock puppets I was forced to make Dragon sock puppets, with wings, googly eyes, pointy dragon ears, teeth and forked tongues. As you do - doesn't everyone know how to make those? And hurry up Mummy, I want it to be ready NOW.
So, feast your eyes on the results (well Connor's one - Hamish was running around so much with his that I couldn't get him to stand still long enough for a photo.) A cobbled together dragon sock puppet made in under 4 minutes. (Those with actual talents in this field may want to look away now ;)
Apparently he wanted to depict an epic battle - that between sock and boy. Well, what he said was 'and now the sock dragon is attacking me, aarrggh, aaarrrggghhh!!' but my version sounded better ;)
