Barbara's Birthday Bonanza

You gotta love the names given to some of the classes we run at the shop.  Fiona's mission is to get 'So You Think You Can Stamp' on the schedule, whereas mine is 'Fun With Flock and Glitter' (try saying that 3 times fast) so far we are at a nil-all mexican stand-off.  Although we are all so tired at the moment they both may end up in the next schedule just because we can't think of anything else ;)
So, after having a semi-frantic phone call yesterday reminding me that I had a class this Friday involving 6 cards and the one card I had actually already done was lost somewhere in the chaos that is my craft desk I then proceeded to stay up until 2am this morning making cards in time to be put in this morning's newsletter.  Ah, such fun. Check out those moustaches though - I HAD to have that stamp set when it came in.  Anyone who has known me for 5 seconds or longer knows that I compulsively turn all manner of objects into moustaches.

Not too shabby really.  The wheels spin on the bike and you pull the icing part of the cupcake up to reveal the birthday message.
Only 11 days until Operation Tregenza (yay!) I am a little worried that I am going to freeze, so I may just have to wear every item of clothing I own at once. (I hear the Michelin man look is very in this season ;)
Anyway, I'm off to wrestle the chocolate from the children, and finish cleaning out the car.  It's off to the 'Car-Doctor' (Hamish-ism) tomorrow for an indetermined amount of time (sniff). Fingers crossed it wont be too long.
Have a great night,
B

Long Time No See ;)

Hey there bloggers.
I've decided to ignore the 'flu I'm battling to post some pics of some cards I've made for the new schedule.  They are very cute and easy to make.

The only trouble I've had with them is that people keep pulling the tag out on the one filled with mini M&M's while it's hanging up and M&M's go everywhere!

I've almost finished the Take-Away Menu Folder that I'm making and will post some more pics soon.  Anyway, I'm off to finish all of my instructions before I'm beaten with a stick ;)
Have a great Monday!

I'M A COVER GIRL!!!

Sorry, bit excited there!  I have been bursting with excitement ever since I found out that my cards made the cover of the latest issue of Australian Simply Cards magazine.  I couldn't wait for the mag to post the pic on their website, so as soon as one of my gal pals spied it on a Newsagents shelf, I quickly took my own dodgy scan of my copy.

My article is all about interactive cards - pop-up, spinner etc.  I was very happy with them.
Anyway, enough self-adulation, gotta get these kids ready for school and daycare.
Have a great Thursday!

Have Yourself an Interactive Xmas

Well, as per usual I have come up with a class that will most likely drive me mad to teach!  I seem to have some sort of sad addiction to complex cards.  The new class schedule starts this week, along with my interactive xmas cards class on Friday.
My gal pal Val (I'm such the poet) gave me the inspiration for the exploding xmas card/decoration.  (She's the Bill to my Ted on our excellent craft shop adventures).

My 11 year old son Connor actually gave me the idea for the pop-up Santa card.  Last year he created a hilarious interactive card all by himself that featured Santa Claus going up and down the chimney, with his legs sticking out and a speech bubble coming out the side saying 'Help! Help! I'm stuck!!' Freakin' hilarious.  When I showed him my card he looked at me in outrage and yelled at me that I'd stolen his idea!  So I promised to put in a disclaimer ;)

The shaker card uses the Penny Black snow globe stamp and the Stampendous elf - sooo cute.  Secretly I just did it to justify my buying the stamps ;)  Maybe I'll use it again soon to do a layout about my snowglobe collection.....

Well, I don't have anything else exciting to add, except that I fell in love with a cat named Jingles yesterday, and daren't go back into the pet store for awhile in case I come out with an adorable furball stuffed down my jumper (hey, and I'm not a cat person per se - but this guy was hilarious, a total goof-ball, he'd fit right in around here.) Sigh.  I'll have to send Connor in for the crickets for a while until I come to my senses...no wait he'd be as bad as me, it'll have to be Dion ;)

Class Tonight

Hey there bloggers!  Tonight I have my class Eastern Elements.  I was pleasantly surprised with how these turned out as it's not my normal thing - going the Asian route.

the bottom one has a faux rice-paper screen that slides across to reveal each side.

I just hope the ladies are gentle with me tonight as I'm past the 2 month mark with my continuous headache :( I had a barrage of tests done yesterday and I have another one today, so fingers crossed we can find out if something is causing it, and stop it!  My husband is all geared up for a big fat 'I told you so' after today's eye test, so if I start wearing glasses you just know he's going to be insufferable ;)
